Chiyaan Vikram celebrated his 60th birthday on April 17, 2026, and marked the occasion by announcing his next film. The project, currently titled Chiyaan63, will be directed by Anand Shankar. This film brings the actor and director together again after their earlier collaboration.
The announcement was made by Sathya Jyothi Films. Along with the announcement, a teaser titled First Flame was released. The teaser is a little over a minute long and shows a dramatic setting with smoke and a strong visual presence of Vikram. The background music has been composed by Santhosh Narayanan. The teaser suggests that the film will be an action based story, although production is yet to begin.
More details about the cast and storyline have not been officially confirmed. However, some reports suggest that Riya Shibu might be part of the film. She had earlier produced Vikram’s previous film Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2.
Vikram and Anand Shankar had earlier worked together on Iru Mugan. That film was a science fiction action story about an ex intelligence officer tracking a scientist who created a drug that increases adrenaline. The film featured Nayanthara and Nithya Menen along with other actors like Nassar, Thambi Ramaiah, and Karunakaran. It received positive feedback and performed well at the box office.
Earlier, Vikram had announced another project with director Bodi Rajkumar, but no further updates have been shared about it. There were also reports about a possible film with Madonne Ashwin, which now appears to be cancelled.
On the work front, Vikram was last seen in Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2, directed by SU Arun Kumar. The film also starred Dushara Vijayan, SJ Suryah, and Suraj Venjaramoodu. The story followed a former mobster who tries to live a normal life but is forced back into conflict. The film is currently available on Amazon Prime Video.
