Diljit Dosanjh’s New Film With Imtiaz Ali Is Underway—His BTS Video Shoot-Day Vlog Goes Viral!

Diljit Dosanjh shares a day-in-the-life from his Punjab shoot with Imtiaz Ali as the duo reunite after their Emmy-nominated Chamkila.

Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh, who has collaborated with filmmaker Imtiaz Ali once again, gave fans an insight into what a daily routine at work in Punjab looks like. Taking to Instagram early Thursday morning, the singer-actor shared a candid behind-the-scenes video from shoots at a traditional haveli where he is currently staying for the shooting of his upcoming project.

In the video, Diljit revealed that he started his day very early at 4:30 am by starting off with a quick work-out session. He then sat for a light breakfast that included fresh fruits with protein, which he usually consumes during shoot days. Getting ready thereafter, he left for the set with his team to begin the work for the day.

The vlog-style clip shows Diljit shooting sequences in front of a green screen, giving fans a rare glimpse into the technical aspect of this production. The video also captures moments of him interacting with director Imtiaz Ali, further adding to the excitement over their second collaboration. Once the shoot wrapped up, the actor returned to the haveli and called it a day with ease.

This new, untitled project is a second collaboration between Diljit and Imtiaz after the critically acclaimed film Amar Singh Chamkila, which told the story of the iconic and controversial Punjabi musician from the 1980s. The film stars Diljit as Chamkila, with Parineeti Chopra playing his wife, Amarjot. Nicknamed the “Elvis of Punjab,” Chamkila gained widespread acclaim for raw energy, fearless performances, and socially charged songwriting that often challenged norms. His 1988 assassination, which included Amarjot, remains one of the most shocking tragedies in Punjabi cultural history.

The film received two nominations at the 53rd International Emmy Awards: one for Diljit’s brilliant performance and the other in the category of Best TV Movie or Mini-Series. The film did not win in any category, but these two nominations remained a moment of pride for Punjabi and Indian cinema since this reflects the growing sensitivity of the international world toward stories rooted in culture.

A recent behind-the-scenes video of Diljit only adds to the excitement. It shows him sticking to his disciplined routine and sharing easy camaraderie with Imtiaz Ali. Therefore, fans are quite eager to know about this new venture, which once again brings together one of the most talked-about actor-director combos of recent Indian cinema.
