For the past few months, speculation has been swirling that Korean star Ma Dong‑seok (also known as “Don Lee”) is set to join the cast of Spirit, the upcoming film directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, starring Prabhas in the lead. Until now, the makers have not officially confirmed his involvement.
Now, however, Korean media reports are claiming that Ma Dong-seok is indeed making his Indian cinema debut with Spirit. According to a report by Korean outlet Muko, his recent visit to India was connected to this film. The translation of the report states: “This film, titled Spirit, is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and features Prabhas, known for Baahubali, in a dark-toned detective/crime drama. It is heard that Ma Dong-seok’s role in this film is a character who will be against the role of Prabhas.”

The buzz among fans has grown intense. Social-media posts, fan-discussions and Korean media coverage have all amplified the anticipation of this pan-Asian collaboration, especially the notion of a showdown between Prabhas and Ma Dong-seok in one of India’s biggest upcoming films.
As for confirmed cast and production details: the film Spirit already includes Triptii Dimri, Prakash Raj, and Vivek Oberoi. It is jointly produced by Bhadrakali Pictures and T‑Series Films, and regular shooting is expected to begin soon.
While the Ma Dong-seok casting remains unconfirmed by the filmmakers themselves, the Korean reports appear confident. Whether the makers will now issue an official announcement remains to be seen—but for now the rumour has sent fans into a frenzy.
