Actress Pooja Hegde is all set to grace the big screen in Retro, starring alongside South superstar Suriya. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the film is scheduled for release on May 1st, 2025, and has already created quite a buzz among fans, especially after the release of the film’s trailer and a character reveal video shared by Pooja.

A Glimpse into Rukmini

Taking to Instagram, Pooja shared a captivating video that offers a peek into her character, Rukmini. Draped in a traditional saree and portraying the essence of a married woman, the actress looked stunning, radiating old-school elegance. Captioning the post “yours, Rukmini,” she left fans swooning. Compliments flooded the comments, with fans calling her “gorgeous” and “beautiful as always.”

In Retro, Pooja plays the love interest of Suriya’s character a former gangster torn between love and violence. The trailer features an emotional moment where Suriya reflects on how their separation over the years transformed her into a Buddha and him into a demon setting the tone for a deeply emotional and action-packed drama. Co-produced by Suriya and Jyotika under their banner 2D Entertainment, the film marks another exciting collaboration between the real-life couple.

Pooja Hegde, Varun Dhawan Head to Scotland for Comedy Extravaganza

While gearing up for Retro’s release, Pooja is also busy shooting Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, a romantic comedy directed by David Dhawan and co-starring Varun Dhawan. The film promises a vibrant mix of humour, music, and madness the classic David Dhawan formula. Already halfway through its shoot, the cast is now set to begin a 30-day international schedule in Scotland starting April 22.

A Star-Studded Ensemble Cast

Joining Pooja and Varun are Maniesh Paul, Jimmy Shergill, Mouni Roy, Chunkey Panday, Rakesh Bedi, and Ali Asgar. Much of the ensemble comedy will unfold during the Scotland shoot, with scenes filled with confusion and laughter that Dhawan’s comedies are known for. After this stretch, only a couple of songs and some patchwork remain to wrap the film. With two major releases lined up, Pooja Hegde is all set to rule 2025!
