Sai Pallavi is reportedly gearing up for not one, but two major projects that could redefine her career trajectory. Strong industry buzz suggests the actress has been approached to portray legendary classical singer and Bharat Ratna awardee M.S. Subbulakshmi in an upcoming biopic. While an official confirmation from the makers is still awaited, the mere possibility has already sparked excitement among fans.
According to reports by 123 Telugu, Sai Pallavi has been roped in to headline the biopic based on the life of M.S. Subbulakshmi, fondly known as MS Amma. Revered as one of India’s greatest classical musicians, MS Subbulakshmi made history as the first musician to receive the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award. Her life, marked by devotion to Carnatic music and spiritual artistry, continues to inspire generations. If confirmed, the role would mark a significant milestone for Sai Pallavi, known for her grace, expressive performances, and classical dance background—qualities many believe make her a fitting choice.
Meanwhile, another major development has surfaced regarding Nag Ashwin’s ambitious sci-fi universe. Following Deepika Padukone’s reported exit from the Kalki sequel, Sai Pallavi is said to be in preliminary discussions to step into the pivotal role of SUM-80, also known as Sumati. Sources close to the project reportedly told Hindustan Times that while nothing has been finalized, the makers are considering Sai Pallavi as a strong contender for the role.
In the first installment, Deepika portrayed SUM-80, a pregnant test subject in Project K and the prophesied mother of Kalki. Her character formed the emotional backbone of the story and was protected by Amitabh Bachchan’s Ashwatthama after escaping Supreme Yaskin’s lab. With the sequel expected to delve deeper into these arcs, casting SUM-80 remains a crucial decision for the filmmakers at Vyjayanthi Movies.
Beyond these projects, Sai Pallavi’s slate is already packed. She will star in D55 alongside Dhanush, with Sreeleela and Mammootty also playing key roles. Additionally, she is set to make her Bollywood debut with Ramayana, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor, and will appear in Ek Din opposite Junaid Khan.
While official announcements are pending, Sai Pallavi’s name being linked to such high-profile projects has undoubtedly heightened anticipation across industries.
