It appears that the Income Tax (IT) department has recently conducted raids on multiple prominent figures within the Telugu film industry, including director Sukumar. The raids are part of a broader investigation that also includes producers Dil Raju, Ravi Shankar, and Naveen Yerneni, as well as other key industry figures linked to production houses like Sri Venkateswara Creations and Mythri Movie Makers.

The IT department’s scrutiny seems to be centered on financial activities, although the exact reasons for the raids are not yet clear, as no official statements have been made. Sukumar, known for his work on successful films such as Pushpa 2: The Rule, Rangasthalam, and 1: Nenokkadine, has recently been in the news due to his involvement in the Pushpa franchise. The fact that the raids occurred shortly after the release of Pushpa 2 raises questions about whether the investigation might be related to the financial aspects of the film’s production.

Sukumar, a former mathematics and physics lecturer, has seen immense success in the film industry, with his career spanning from his directorial debut with Arya in 2004 to his more recent works. The raids, however, have sparked interest in the industry, and whether they involve the financial operations related to his films or other business dealings remains to be seen. Additionally, the raids on the homes and offices of other producers in the industry suggest that the IT department may be investigating broader financial irregularities within the Telugu film industry.
