Lights, laughter and a few unexpected confessions set the tone for the upcoming episode of Wheel of Fortune, as Akshay Kumar takes a nostalgic trip down memory lane and shares a prank that still defines his bond with Nimrat Kaur.
What began as a simple shayari by contestant Adarsh soon turned into a lively debate on whether men truly put in enough effort to win someone’s heart. Contestant Anit didn’t hold back. According to him, men should make the effort, but they often fall short.
The comment nudged Akshay into recalling his own attempt at romance from his college days.
Opening up with a smile, he said, “Mujhe yaad hai, main apne time ki baat kar raha hoon. Aaj se kareeban 40 saal pehle main college mein tha, toh main ek ladki ko bahut chahta tha. Maine uske liye gaana seekha aur mera ek dost tha jisko guitar chalana aata tha. Main sacchi mein keh raha hoon, main uske ghar ke bahar jaake gaana gaya aur woh guitar baja raha tha. Maine gaana gaya, uske baad pata hai kya hua?“
The audience leaned in. The build-up was perfect. Then came the punchline.
“Uske jitne bhi neighbours the, unhone mujhe peeta. Hum dono ne maar khayi,” he revealed, sending the studio into peals of laughter. He added with mock seriousness, “Mehnat zyada hone se bhi pitai hoti hai.”

The laughter didn’t stop there. If Akshay’s college love story showed his romantic side, his recollection of a prank on Nimrat Kaur highlighted his mischievous streak.
During a shoot together, Akshay secretly asked a security guard stationed at the entrance to stop Nimrat and insist on checking her bag. Without her knowledge, he had slipped cutlery into it beforehand.
As the guard began inspecting the bag, forks and spoons tumbled out in full view of onlookers. Nimrat was stunned. Confused. Embarrassed. The unexpected discovery left her in tears.
Sensing the prank had gone far enough, Akshay stepped in and asked the guard to reveal the truth. Only then did Nimrat learn that the entire episode had been orchestrated by him.
Akshay admitted that the incident has since become a permanent part of their conversations whenever they meet.
