Social media influencer Awez Darbar was evicted from Bigg Boss 19 in the recent Weekend Ka Vaar episode presented by Salman Khan. Awez, who was nominated along with Ashnoor Kaur, Pranit More, Gaurav Khanna, Mridul Tiwari, and Neelam Giri, was in the bottom three through viewer votes, along with Ashnoor and Pranit being in the danger zone.
In spite of his colossal internet popularity—more than 20.4 million Instagram followers and 12.6 million subscribers on YouTube—Awez did not leave much of an impression during the show. This content creator, who happens to be the son of music director Ismail Darbar and the brother-in-law of actress Gauahar Khan, was not able to leave a lasting impression on the show.
He went onto the show with his girlfriend Nagma Mirajkar and even got engaged to her during their stay. But both had premature evictions—Nagma got evicted two weeks before Awez. Their wedding, which was scheduled in December, has now been put on hold due to their Bigg Boss obligation.
Awez’s eviction comes after a stern wake-up call from Gauahar Khan, who recently went to the house and told him to speak up. She asked him why he hadn’t spoken up on important matters, saying to him, “If you don’t fight your battle, who will?”
During the last few weeks, Awez’s play was criticized, even by Salman Khan. Though he connected with contestants such as Gaurav Khanna, Ashnoor Kaur, and Abhishek Bajaj, he clashed with Baseer Ali and Amaal Mallik. There was a time when character assassination was charged against him for allegedly messaging other females while being in a relationship with Nagma.
Bigg Boss 19 airs live on JioHotstar at 9 PM, with TV broadcasts on Colors TV at 10:30 PM. Contestants on the show include Kunickaa Sadanand, Gaurav Khanna, Tanya Mittal, and Natalia Janoszek, who got eliminated in the season’s initial double eviction alongside Nagma.
