Gauahar Khan has long been a well-known figure in the Indian entertainment industry, particularly for her appearances on reality TV. However, her recent venture into fiction TV has garnered significant attention. She made her acting debut on television with Fauji 2, a spiritual sequel to the iconic 1999 show starring Shah Rukh Khan. In a recent interview, Gauahar explained the significance of her debut, stating that she wanted to ensure the role treated her acting with respect and allowed her to deliver a meaningful performance. For her, it was essential that the show was not just about making money but about providing a platform to showcase her talent.
Reflecting on the nostalgia of working with Doordarshan (DD), where the show airs, Gauahar mentioned how it felt like a dream come true, as the channel was the definition of entertainment during her childhood. She expressed her excitement at being part of the iconic DD legacy, alongside classics like Chitrahaar and Malgudi Days, and also praised the channel for its continued relevance and plans to expand into the OTT space.
When asked about Shah Rukh Khan and his legacy on Fauji, Gauahar admitted that there was pressure, but also expressed her gratitude for being mentioned alongside him. She shared her hope that, after watching the show, Shah Rukh would recognize her performance and praise her work. She emphasized how much it would mean to her if he appreciated her role in this heartfelt and genuine story.
In addition to Fauji 2, Gauahar teased her next big project, sharing that she’s currently working on two shows, one of which features a character she considers one of her all-time favorites. She expressed confidence that audiences would be impressed with her performance in this upcoming project, which is being produced by Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta’s production house.
