Stand-up comedian and Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui recently shared insights about his private wedding to celebrity makeup artist Mehzabeen Coatwala. The couple’s intimate nikah surprised many when photos surfaced online, and Munawar opened up about the reasons behind keeping it low-key.
Advice on Dowry and Weddings
In a conversation with Sana Khan and Anas Saiyad on their podcast, Munawar shared his thoughts on dowry, advising against it and emphasizing that extravagant weddings only lead to unnecessary pressure. He revealed that his own wedding was small, which offended some people, but he stood by his decision. “I advise people not to take dowry or spend huge amounts on weddings,” he explained.
Fear of the Evil Eye
Faruqui also spoke about his fear of the “evil eye,” admitting that he fears it more than death. “Mujhe nazar se jitna darr lagta hain, utna maut se nahi hain,” he said, expressing his concern for the well-being of his new life with Mehzabeen. The comedian added that he has grown increasingly cautious of negative energy around him.
Stability in Marriage
Reflecting on his marriage, Munawar spoke about how Mehzabeen has brought stability into his life. Despite his controversial past, including dramas involving his previous relationships, Munawar now enjoys a more peaceful personal life with Mehzabeen and their blended family. The couple has a son, Mikael, whom Munawar shares with his ex-wife Jasmine, while Mehzabeen has a daughter from her previous relationship.
Career and Family Life
Apart from his live shows, Munawar Faruqui continues to stay busy with music videos and reality shows. He is currently seen in Hafta Vasooli, streaming on JioHotstar, while regularly sharing moments from his family life on social media.
