Arshad Warsi on ‘upsetting’ journalists: I am going to have to leave my humour only for my friends

At the trailer launch of WELCOME TO KARACHI, while interacting with the media, Arshad Warsi, who was suffering from a bad throat, allegedly ‘upset’ two journalists with his remarks.

It so happened that during the press conference, a journalist asked him how the term ‘Wadthef**k’ used in the film was conceptualised.  To which he jokingly replied, ‘We went to the Himalayas and took a couple of hours…Silly question. Next question.’

After a while, another journalist, while asking a question pronounced film as ‘flim’. Arshad questioned him, ‘Yeh flim kya hota hai, bhai?’ The journalist replied that it was a slip of tongue and like Arshad had a problem with his throat, he had a problem with his tongue. To this, Arshad said, ‘Mera toh galla kharab hai, tumhara dimaag kharab hai.

A couple of hours after the trailer launch, Arshad Warsi wrote on a social networking site, “I upset two journalists today with my sense of humour…. Guess I am going to have to leave my humour only for my friends…”

Directed by Ashish Mohan, WELCOME TO KARACHI also stars Jackky Bhagnani and Lauren Gottlieb. It is scheduled to release on 21st May, 2015.
