Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, has made a modest start at the box office with early Day 1 collections and advance booking figures now available.

Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, has finally released in theatres. The action thriller is the first female led standalone film in the YRF Spy Universe. Directed by Shiv Rawail and produced by Yash Raj Films, the movie has started its box office journey with early Day 1 collections coming in as shows continue across the country.

According to the latest live estimates from Sacnilk, Alpha has collected ₹0.42 crore India nett so far on its opening day. The film’s India gross collection currently stands at ₹0.50 crore. Since these figures are from the early part of the day, the collections are expected to increase as more people attend the afternoon, evening and night shows.

The film is currently playing across 1,354 tracked shows and has recorded an overall occupancy of 9% in the early hours. Occupancy figures are likely to improve later in the day depending on audience response and ticket sales.

Before its release, Alpha recorded advance bookings worth ₹3.06 crore by selling nearly 90,000 tickets across India. A large share of these bookings came from the national multiplex chains PVR, INOX and Cinepolis, where the film sold around 39,000 tickets and generated close to ₹1.50 crore gross. Among these chains, PVR contributed around 21,500 tickets, followed by INOX with 12,000 and Cinepolis with 5,500. The combined occupancy across nearly 2,800 tracked multiplex shows was around 6%.

The film also saw an increase in online ticket bookings shortly before its release. Reports show that BookMyShow ticket sales increased from around 16,000 on July 1 to more than 54,000 on July 2. In addition, over 1.59 lakh users showed interest in watching the film before its release.

Among the major cities, the National Capital Region recorded the highest advance bookings with nearly ₹60 lakh gross from 867 shows. Mumbai followed with around ₹56 lakh from 697 shows. Bengaluru contributed about ₹27 lakh from 338 shows, Hyderabad recorded ₹17 lakh from 249 shows and Pune added nearly ₹9 lakh from 258 shows.

Produced by Aditya Chopra on a reported budget of ₹100 crore, Alpha also features Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor and a special appearance by Hrithik Roshan as Kabir. The film’s overall Day 1 performance will become clearer once the final box office figures are released after all shows conclude.
