DEPARTMENT
This Friday's big release is going to be RGV's Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Rana Daggubati starrer DEPARTMENT. Give the sustained promotion and the reasonably popular tracks – 'Kammo' and 'Dan Dan Cheeni Shoot Mix'- the film should open well (good in Mumbai and South).
The other listed release of the week, Anupam Kher's MR. BHATTI ON CHUTTI has little or no chances of achieving anything significant
ISHAQZAADE and DANGEROUS ISHHQ
Last week saw the release of Yash Raj Films' ISHAQZAADE and Vikram Bhatt's DANGEROUS ISHHQ.While the Arjun-Prineeti starrer ISHAQZAADE which had started on a decent note went from strength to strength as the weekend progressed, Karisma's DANGEROUS ISHHQ could not make much of an impact. It was obvious by the end of the opening weekend that ISHAQZAADE, which had already recovered sixty percent of its 20-21 crore (all inclusive) cost for the producer and distributor Yash Raj Films, the theatrical run of the film in India would ensure that it yields a handsome profit for YRF.
The weekend also made it clear that the other release of the week, DANGEROUS ISHHQ, has been rejected.
JANNAT 2

Netting 35 crore during the opening week, JANNAT 2 is a semi-hit.
For the producer the film is a gold mine because they have already made a profit of 15-16 crore, while the distributors, Fox Star Studios, will earn good commission over their investment. The film though has failed in the overseas, grossing ?87,000 from the UK till the second weekend (11-13 May) and $60,000 from the US.
TEZZ
Moving on, Priyadarshan's Anil, Ajay and Kangna starrer, TEZZ, went from bad to worse (in the second week) as it collected 10 lakhs from Bombay (collections from other cinemas unreceived), 9.50 lakhs from Ahmedabad, 3 lakhs from Surat, 1.10 lakhs from Baroda (collections from 5 cinemas unreceived), 3 lakhs from Rajkot, 1 lakh from Nasik, 2 lakhs from Delhi city, 1.15 lakhs from Noida, 1 lakh from Ghaziabad, 2.20 lakhs from Kanpur, 3.15 lakhs from Lucknow, 1.50 lakhs from Agra, 1.50 lakhs from Nagpur, 1 lakh from Jabalpur, 2.20 lakhs from Raipur, 2.50 lakhs from Indore, 13.20 lakhs from Jaipur (collections from 4 cinemas unreceived), 2 lakhs from Hyderabad, 1.25 lakhs from Bangalore, 1.30 lakhs from Vijayawada and 1.35 lakhs from Visakhapatnam.
Adding another 1.50 crore, TEZZ has netted 16 crore in two weeks from India and is a trade disaster. The Anil, Ajay and Kangna starrer has also failed in the overseas grossing ?111,034 from UK and $226,000 from the US.
In the meantime Vivek Agnihotri's Paoli Dam starrer, HATE STORY, managed another 50 lakhs thereby netting 13.50 crores in three weeks from India and remains an above average fare.
VICKY DONOR
The rock steady run of Shoojit Sircar's Ayushmann Khurrana starrer, VICKY DONOR, continues even in the third week as the film collected 1.25 crore from Bombay (collections from other cinemas unreceived), 14 lakhs from Ahmedabad, 4 lakhs from Surat, 8.55 lakhs from Baroda, 15.80 lakhs from Pune, 2 lakhs from Nasik, 2.65 lakhs from Goa, 1.50 crore from Delhi city, 18.25 lakhs from Noida, 9.20 lakhs from Ghaziabad, 3 lakhs from Kanpur, 7.75 lakhs from Lucknow, 1.35 lakhs from Agra, 1.65 lakhs from Allahabad, 30 lakhs from Gurgaon, 2.50 lakhs from Faridabad, 1 lakh from Kurukshetra, 1.25 lakhs from Panipat, 10.35 lakhs from Chandigarh, 5 lakhs from Jalandhar, 2.50 lakhs from Amritsar, 2.50 lakhs from Ludhiana, 25 lakhs from Calcutta (collections from other cinemas unreceived), 5.85 lakhs from Nagpur, 1.75 lakhs from Jabalpur, 3.60 lakhs from Raipur, 6.75 lakhs from Indore, 4.60 lakhs from Bhopal, 12 lakhs from Jaipur, 1.75 lakhs from Udaipur, 13.50 lakhs from Hyderabad, 40.50 lakhs from Bangalore, 1.75 lakhs from Mangalore and 2 lakhs from Madras.
Adding another 7 crore, VICKY DONOR has netted 32.50 crores in three weeks from India and is a super hit. The John Abraham produced venture has also done wonderfully in the overseas (especially US) grossing ?96,500 from UK and $492,000 from the US till the fourth weekend (11-13 May).
HOUSEFULL 2
Concluding with Sajid Khan's HOUSEFULL 2, the film sees another good week collecting 20 lakhs from Bombay, 14.55 lakhs from Ahmedabad, 3 lakhs from Surat, 5.25 lakhs from Baroda (collections from 3 cinemas unreceived), 6.50 lakhs from Rajkot, 1 lakh from Pune, 10 lakhs from Delhi city, 2.25 lakhs from Lucknow, 2 lakhs from Chandigarh, 1.25 lakhs from Calcutta, 1.55 lakhs from Nagpur, 2 lakhs from Jabalpur, 2.50 lakhs from Raipur, 3.65 lakhs from Indore, 1.50 lakhs from Bhopal, 1 lakh from Gwalior, 5.50 lakhs from Jaipur (collections from 3 cinemas unreceived), 1.50 lakhs from Kota, 1.50 lakhs from Udaipur, 5 lakhs from Hyderabad and 5 lakhs from Bangalore.
With another 1.75 crore during its latest outing, HOUSEFULL 2 has netted 111.75 crore in five weeks from India and is a super duper hit. HOUSEFULL 2 is the biggest overseas grosser of 2012 with ?987,000 from UK and $1,590,000 from US till the sixth weekend (11-13 May).
