Emraan Hashmi: I have come a long way

Emraan Hashmi is finding himself in a happy space. With GHANCHAKKAR being his third straight non-Bhatt starrer in a row and his next four films in the making with makers like Karan Johar, Ekta Kapoor and Danis Tanovic, the man has finally managed to get rid of the Serial Kisser image and stepped into an entirely different world and space.

This is the reason why it appears as if he has a roadmap firmly in place, what with films with the likes of Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor already in the making and conversations still on with Yash Raj Films. No wonder, he must be happy to be find himself in a win-win situation here.

''Hopefully because of box office success of my film, more producers wake up as well,'' laughs Emraan, ''Some of them have come around though. Five years ago, some of them were not even touching me with a barge pole. Today we are talking about making movies together. If not in early years of my career, at least today I am indulging in some concrete conversations with them. I have come a long way. All of this has been possible through my box office results.''

Meanwhile he seems to be going slow in picking up films with Bhatts.

''Well, everything is well between us,'' he smiles, ''See, the thing is that after you have slammed a ball out of stadium, be it with JANNAT, MURDER OR RAAZ one after another, it is essential to come up with something humungous on both idea as well as the execution level. If you don't do that then your film would fizzle out. We should be starting something next year.''
