Very much as expected, it was the Kangana Ranaut starrer REVOLVER RANI which led the show from amongst this week’s new releases, followed by Subhash Ghai’s KAANCHI and Rajshri’s SAMRAT & CO.

Having said that, none of the three above mentioned (new) releases managed a good show with collections varying from 10-25 percent on an average. As per the trade, the films will have to show a good jump during the next two days of the weekend to make any sort of an impact at the box-office, with the Tigmanshu Dhulia venture REVOLVER RANI having the best chance, followed by KAANCHI.

Meanwhile, last Friday’s Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer, 2 STATES, managed a good first week netting 60 crore from India. The film continues to do wonderfully in the overseas (read US, grossing $1,136,000 during the first 7-days), and for that the makers have to thank author Chetan Bhagat in a big way. The film has all chances of ending up as a clean hit.
