After his recent hospitalization due to an accidental gunshot wound to his leg, actor Govinda spoke to the media for the first time, expressing his gratitude and sharing details about the incident. Discharged from Criticare Asia Hospital, he emerged in a wheelchair with his left leg in a cast and thanked the medical staff for their care during this challenging time.
Govinda described the moment of the accident, which occurred early Tuesday morning while he was cleaning his licensed revolver before heading to the airport. He recalled the shock of the incident, saying, “I thought, ‘What just occurred?’” He emphasized that the injury was a genuine accident and urged people not to link it to anything else.
In his heartfelt address, he urged everyone to remain cautious and expressed his prayers for safety. “I usually stay relaxed and composed, and I didn’t expect something like this to happen,” he added.

Following the incident, the Mumbai police launched an investigation, although no complaints were filed. Doctors confirmed that Govinda was not in danger, and the bullet was successfully removed. He is now advised to rest for 3-4 weeks as he continues with physiotherapy.
During his hospital stay, many Bollywood celebrities, including David Dhawan, Shilpa Shetty, and Raveena Tandon, visited him, showcasing the industry’s support. Govinda’s resilience and gratitude were evident as he looks forward to recovering fully and returning to his work.
