The shocking attack on Saif Ali Khan at his Mumbai residence has left the film industry and fans deeply concerned. At a press event for the trailer launch of his upcoming film Deva, Shahid Kapoor addressed the incident with heartfelt words. He said, “This is a sad incident. We are all very worried. We hope that Saif’s health improves soon. We were all very shocked by this incident.
The gory incident took place in the wee hours of January 16, when an intruder entered Saif Ali Khan’s home through the fire escape and attacked him. The intruder, who demanded ₹1 crore, first entered the room of Saif’s younger son Jeh. Jeh’s nanny, Eliyama Philip, confronted the man, who injured her during the struggle. Another house help alerted Saif Ali Khan, who confronted the intruder and was stabbed six times during the altercation.

Saif was taken to Lilavati Hospital, where doctors found that he had been stabbed in the spine and also had spinal fluid leakage. This was repaired. He was also stabbed in many places on his hands and neck which needed plastic surgery. A Lilavati Hospital spokesperson confirmed that Saif is stable, recovering very well, and out of danger now.
The Mumbai Police and Crime Branch have started an investigation into the case, and some shocking details about the familiarity of the intruder with the property have come to light. The assailant scaled a wall to enter the premises, used a rear staircase, and accessed Saif’s home through the fire escape. The intruder was locked in a room after the altercation, but CCTV footage shows him escaping via the fire shaft.
A suspect has been identified by the police, and investigations are being widened. Meanwhile, Saif’s family and fans are relieved with the news of the actor coming out of a coma.
