Coldplay’s frontman, Chris Martin, and his girlfriend, actress Dakota Johnson, were recently spotted attending the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, India. A fan, Bharat Chaudhary, shared a delightful video of the couple during their visit. The footage, shared on Instagram, shows Bharat and his partner heading toward the water to take a ritual dip, with Chris and Dakota seen nearby, preparing for the same sacred experience.
In the clip, Chris, dressed in black shorts, and Dakota, in a kurta and trousers, are seen following the sacred customs with deep respect. At one point, Chris, with folded hands, smiles and prays, fully embracing the spiritual atmosphere of the Kumbh Mela. Bharat captioned the video with, “When you can’t go to the concert, the artist comes to you—at Kumbh Mela! Took a Sangam Snan with none other than Coldplay’s Chris Martin and Dakota, who followed every ritual with deep respect. Music unites, but faith transcends. Har har Mahadev!”
Fans were thrilled to witness the couple’s involvement in the rituals. One commented, “Wow nice he is embracing culture & rituals being a British & trying traditions without any hesitation.” Another fan wrote, “Chris Martin and Dakota at Kumbh?! Chris and Dakota were in India for Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres tour, which included concerts in Mumbai and Ahmedabad. During their performance in Ahmedabad on Republic Day, Chris paid a heartfelt tribute to India by singing patriotic songs like Vande Mataram and Maa Tujhhe Salaam, before concluding with a salute to Mother India, making their visit even more special for fans.
