Speaking candidly on the Small Talk with Koko podcast, Chum revealed that she was originally picked for the hit series, which features Manoj Bajpayee.
But because she was dedicated to Bigg Boss 18, she was left with no option but to release the chance. Looking back on her decision, Chum admitted, “I actually felt I won’t be able to survive inside Bigg Boss for too long.”. She was at her brother’s place in Delhi with her grandmother when Chum’s grandmother assisted her in making an audition tape. Once she uploaded the tape, Chum was shocked to hear a call from Bhansali’s office. Her friend and she initially thought it was a prank, but the genuine offer was soon realized by them. Chum recalled feeling intimidated by Bhansali’s meticulous attention to detail, especially when he personally chose the colors for each character’s costume.
