Munawar Faruqui, the well-known stand-up comedian and Bigg Boss 17 winner, recently visited Dongri to indulge in festive delights during Ramzan. Alongside actors Gulshan Grover, Krystle D’Souza, Ashi Singh, and Meiyang Chang, Munawar had a great foodie experience.
His night, however, turned ugly real fast as he got engulfed by a dense sea of people. Viral videos making their way around the social media pages reveal Munawar being thronged by fans looking forward to taking selfies. Sharing one of these video clips on his Instagram stories again, he flashed proudly, “My hood. My Dongri,” accompanied by a red heart emoji.

Munawar’s Response to Meerut Police’s Eid Directives
Simultaneously, Munawar expressed his displeasure over a disputed order by Meerut Police in which Muslims had been warned not to hold Eid prayers on public roads. The order, valid for the last Friday prayers during Ramzan on March 28 and Eid-Ul-Fitr, also invited legal action, including cancellation of passports and driving licenses, to violators.
Out of frustration, Munawar posted on Instagram stories and criticized the ruling by saying, “30 minutes ki namaz ke liye yeh? Kya ab koi bhi festival Bharat ke roads pe nahi hoga?” (This for a 30-minute prayer? Will no festival in India now be allowed on the roads?)
Munawar’s Personal Life
On the personal front, Munawar married Mehzabeen Coatwala on May 26, 2024, in a private ceremony that was attended only by his close family. Leaked wedding images showed the couple cutting a cake together. Rumor had it later that actress Hina Khan had played cupid for Munawar and Mehzabeen.
