Actress Anushka Sharma conveyed profound sorrow about the unfortunate mishap that took place in Bengaluru during the celebration of Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) IPL 2025 triumph. The function, which was to celebrate RCB’s historic first-ever IPL title victory in 18 years, went tragic when a stampede outside M. Chinnaswamy Stadium resulted in at least 11 deaths and more than 30 injuries.
Anushka, wife of RCB star Virat Kohli, reposted the official statement of the team on Instagram, with heartbroken emojis to convey her sadness. The actress had previously posted happy glimpses of the victory parade, sharing a ride with Virat and the RCB team amidst cheering crowds.
RCB’s Statement and Call for Safety
In a formal statement, RCB stated, “We are sad to learn of the unfortunate incidents that have come to light through media reports of public congregations across Bengaluru waiting for the team’s arrival this afternoon. The safety and well-being of all concerned is of top priority to us.”
The squad further added that they immediately altered plans according to local administration regulation after getting news of the tragedy. They sent condolences to victims’ families and asked fans to remain safe.

Chaos at Felicitation Ceremony
The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) had planned a grand felicitation ceremony in the stadium, which was to be attended by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in order to felicitate the team. But huge crowds — many of them without valid entry passes had swarmed outside, overrunning security. Eyewitnesses told of fans climbing walls and fences in desperation to get into the stadium.
