Gauri Khan, wife of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, has rented a flat in Mumbai’s upscale Khar West area for her staff, as their iconic home, Mannat, undergoes a major renovation. The rented apartment is located in Pankaj Society, a reputed residential building, just 100 metres from another duplex she had previously leased.
According to lease documents obtained via Zapkey.com, the 725 sq ft flat (Flat No. 6 on the 4th floor) has been rented from Sanjay Kishor Ramani for ₹1.35 lakh per month, with a security deposit of ₹4.05 lakh. The lease agreement is valid for three years, with a 5% annual rent escalation clause. In April 2025, Gauri had also rented two duplex apartments in Khar’s Pali Hill area for ₹8.67 crore, also on a three-year lease.
Mannat Set for Lavish Expansion
The Khan family’s sea-facing bungalow Mannat—a major Mumbai landmark—is currently undergoing renovations that may soon include the addition of two more floors to its existing structure. Built in 1914, Mannat is not just a heritage site but also a popular tourist attraction. The family also resides in a six-storey modern annex adjoining the heritage home, which may now be expanded to eight storeys.

Reports suggest Gauri Khan has submitted a proposal to coastal authorities for the expansion, with the total estimated cost of the construction pegged at ₹225 crore. The property itself is currently valued at around ₹200 crore.
