Family and Future Plans
Talking to Extra, Rihanna expressed her enthusiasm for the premiere: “Tonight is going to be fun. I get to watch [the film] in its full completion.” When asked how her sons feel about gaining a new sibling, she laughed, saying they were “delighted.” On whether she might be having a girl, she teased, “You’ll have to wait and see,” but added, “I’ve always wanted a girl.” She also confirmed the baby’s name will follow the “R” tradition.

A Bittersweet Week
The premiere came after a trying time in Rihanna’s life as she attended the funeral of her father Ronald Fenty on July 9 in Barbados. He died aged 70 after fighting pancreatic cancer. Rihanna, who voiced Smurfette and features in the movie’s soundtrack, revealed her pregnancy at the 2025 Met Gala.
