NO CONNECTION! Aamir Khan’s Team Clears Air on Coolie Movie Release Plans

Aamir Khan’s alleged involvement in the distribution of Rajinikanth-starrer Coolie, the actor’s team has issued a firm denial, clearing the air on recent media reports.

Amid growing buzz around Aamir Khan’s alleged involvement in the distribution of Rajinikanth-starrer Coolie, the actor’s team has issued a firm denial, clearing the air on recent media reports.

No Role in Distribution, Says Aamir Khan Productions
A spokesperson for Aamir Khan Productions (AKP) released an official statement dismissing the claims. “Neither Aamir Khan, nor anyone from his team, is involved in the distribution of Coolie. Mr Khan has not made any calls to any exhibitor or distributor,” the statement clarified. The spokesperson added that Aamir’s extended cameo in the film was done purely out of goodwill and his personal bond with director Lokesh Kanagaraj and superstar Rajinikanth.

Reports of Industry Power Play Spark Controversy
Earlier, a Bollywood Hungama report had alleged that Aamir personally called PVR-Inox head Ajay Bijli, aggressively lobbying for prime-time slots and marketing tie-ups for Coolie in North India. According to the report, this move surprised the PVR-Inox team, especially since Aamir has no financial stake in the film. Trade insiders speculated that the collaboration between Aamir and Rajinikanth might go beyond friendship and could be a strategic maneuver amid growing rivalries in the film industry.

With YRF’s War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, also eyeing premium screens, exhibitors like PVR-Inox are reportedly under pressure to balance competing interests between major studios, including Sun Pictures.

Aamir Focused on New Projects
The statement from AKP also highlighted the team’s happiness over the success of Sitaare Zameen Par’s YouTube release. Meanwhile, Aamir Khan is now working with 3 Idiots director Vidhu Vinod Chopra on a biopic based on cinema legend Dadasaheb Phalke.
