The highly anticipated Season 2 of First Copy is set to premiere on November 5, 2025, on Amazon MX Player, and the newly released trailer promises an intense dive into Mumbai’s film piracy world of the early 2000s. Building on the success of the first season, the sequel explores ambition, betrayal, and power through the eyes of Munawar Faruqui’s Arif, navigating the chaotic underworld of pirated films.
The trailer begins with smooth, fashionable shots of Arif, interweaving confident moments and despairing scenes, setting the stakes of his mission right away. The series presents the technicalities of early-2000s piracy, with piles of CDs, computer stations, and the complicated processes that govern illicit film distribution. Arif’s own love life is also front and center. His on-again, off-again romance with Ashi Singh’s character and complicated affair with Krystle D’Souza’s Mona provide emotional depth to the high-wire drama. D’Souza says her character’s changing allegiances mirror how ambition puts a strain on personal relationships.
