The fear of Ghostface has come to haunt the audience once again with the chilling return of the Scream franchise. On October 30, precisely at the eve of Halloween, makers dropped the much-anticipated first trailer of Scream 7, giving fans a thrilling glimpse at Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox as they reprise their iconic roles as Sidney Prescott and Gale Weathers, respectively.
From the mind of Kevin Williamson, the upcoming installment promises an exciting mix of suspense, emotion, and nostalgia that leaves the audiences at the edge of their seats from the very beginning. Joining Cox and Campbell are returning stars David Arquette, Matthew Lillard, and Scott Foley as the new, more self-aware chapter reunites the generations.
The trailer starts off with a spine-tingling scene of a couple checking into a “psycho killer B&B,” where they are confronted by two terrifying Ghostfaces. The chilling sequence cuts to a phone call to Sidney, in which the masked killer threatens to kill her daughter, played by Isabel May. Pushed to protect her child, Sidney is put in a situation where she has to revisit her traumatic past and faces off against the deadly spirit once again.
According to the official synopsis, “When a new Ghostface killer emerges in the quiet town where Sidney Prescott has built a new life, her darkest fears are realized as her daughter becomes the next target. Determined to protect her family, Sidney must face the horrors of her past to end the bloodshed once and for all.”
