Music composer and singer Amaal Mallik has been riding high on popularity after his recent appearance on Bigg Boss 19, where he emerged as the fourth runner-up. His emotional honesty and creative passion won over audiences, but now, a surprising new chapter seems to be unfolding in his career — acting.
Following his stint on the reality show, Amaal revealed that he has been receiving multiple offers to play villainous roles, particularly in South Indian films. While the idea of stepping in front of the camera excites him, the composer has made it clear that he isn’t willing to take up just any acting project without one important condition.
In a candid conversation with Mashable Middle East, Amaal shared that if he accepts a central on-screen role — especially a powerful villain — he would like to take charge of the film’s music and background score as well. He explained that although fans primarily know him for creating hit songs, his experience behind the scenes is far more extensive than many realize.
“Right now, I’m getting many offers to play villains in South films. I’m saying that if I do a movie where I’m a central character, I would also like to handle the score. I’m really good at background music,” Amaal said.
He further revealed that he has worked on 47 films, collaborating with some of the biggest composers in the industry and contributing significantly to background scores. From crafting heroic entry themes to intense villain soundtracks, Amaal believes he has mastered the art of cinematic scoring.
“People only know me for songs, but I’ve done background scores for many films. Whether it’s the hero’s entry or the villain’s introduction — I can create it all. So I’d like to keep one condition: wherever I appear on screen, I will also handle the music and score,” he added.
To support his vision, Amaal cited renowned filmmakers Vishal Bhardwaj and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, both of whom direct their films while also composing the music. Inspired by their creative control, Amaal believes he too can balance performance and composition in a single project.
With villain offers lining up and a bold artistic condition in place, fans are now eager to see whether Amaal Mallik will soon make a dramatic big-screen debut — not just as a composer, but as a performer commanding both sound and screen.
