Rapper Offset was shot on Monday in Florida shortly after he was seen interacting with fans at a casino. According to his representative and media reports, the incident happened just moments after he appeared relaxed and was taking pictures with people.
A representative confirmed the news, saying, “We can confirm Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care. He is stable and being closely monitored.” The update suggests that while the situation is serious, his condition is not life threatening at the moment.
The incident reportedly took place near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Police officials shared that the shooting happened in the valet area after 7 p.m. on Monday. Authorities stated, “We are aware of an incident that occurred at a valet area after 7 p.m. Monday outside of Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood that resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to an individual who was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood.”
Police further added, “Seminole Police were on site immediately, and the situation was contained quickly. Two individuals have been detained by police. The investigation is ongoing. The site is secure, and there is no threat to the public. Operations continue as normal.” At this point, officials have not confirmed the identity of the shooter or the reason behind the attack.
Before the incident, Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was seen spending time with fans in the valet area. Witnesses described him as calm and friendly during the interaction.
Offset is a member of the rap group Migos. His fellow group member Takeoff, whose real name was Kirsnick Khari Ball, died in November 2022 after being shot during an altercation at a bowling alley. That incident also drew widespread attention and concern within the music community.
