Actor Rajshri Deshpande recently shared an update about her health journey while promoting her upcoming Marathi film Baapya. In March, she had revealed that she was diagnosed with grade 1 breast cancer and had undergone surgery. At that time, she mentioned that she was “recovering beautifully” after the procedure.
Now, nearly two months later, she has returned to work and is actively promoting her film. She shared a series of photos on social media from the promotions where she is seen wearing a white saree with red floral prints. In some of the images, she raised her arms and showed her post surgery scars. Through this, she chose to speak openly about her experience and recovery.
In her note, she explained that the scars are a reminder of her journey. “My scars tell the story of my survival. Every single one is a reminder that I fought, I survived and I conquered,” she wrote. She also added, “Breast cancer left its mark, but it could never touch my spirit. To every woman dimming her light, please rise. You are so beautiful and your scars are not blemishes, they are your crown of courage.”
She further shared her thoughts on returning to normal life and work. “Today, I stand tall for my film promotions with love in my heart and courage in my soul. Here’s to living life to the fullest.” Her post received strong reactions online, with many people appreciating her openness. Actor Dia Mirza commented, “You GO Girl,” while Amruta Khanvilkar reacted with heart emojis. Many fans also shared supportive messages, calling her inspiring.
Earlier, on March 4, she had shared details about her diagnosis. She wrote, “As you’re reading this, it means I’ve finally found the courage to tell my parents that I have been diagnosed with Infiltrating ductal carcinoma (NOS), a grade 1 Breast cancer. Now it’s time you all know. We fortunately caught this early in a routine check-up which gave us a fighting chance. Tons of tests and surgery felt like a rollercoaster ride, but trust me, it was everyone’s love and warmth that carried me through. And seeing my Aai and Papa’s faces after surgery melted my fears into unbreakable strength. With everyone’s support, I feel I am ready to take on the world.”
Rajshri Deshpande began her film career with a small role in Talaash and later appeared in projects like Sacred Games, Angry Indian Goddesses, and Trial By Fire. She was most recently seen in Thug Life.
