The Devil Wears Prada 2 Continues Strong Run At Indian Box Office

The Devil Wears Prada 2 earned Rs. 21.70 crore in its first week and continues to maintain a stable run in India.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 continued its steady performance at the Indian box office by adding around Rs. 1.40 crore on Day 7. With this, the total first week collection of the film reached approximately Rs. 21.70 crore gross in India, including paid previews.

The comedy drama, led by Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, witnessed a promising opening weekend and managed to hold stable during the weekdays. Although the weekday collections remained ordinary, the film continued to attract audiences in theatres.

Trade experts believe the movie is now looking toward a stronger second weekend, which could push its total collection beyond the Rs. 25 crore gross mark. Based on the current trend, the film is expected to emerge as a successful venture at the Indian box office. However, due to the moderate weekday performance, it may fall short of achieving a Clean Hit status.

The film is also expected to become the fourth successful Hollywood release in India this year. Reports suggest that it may soon cross the lifetime collection of The Mummy directed by Lee Cronin. It also remains to be seen whether the movie will manage to surpass Michael at the Indian box office.

Apart from Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, the film features a large supporting cast including Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Patrick Brammall, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, Pauline Chalamet, B. J. Novak, Conrad Ricamora, Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman.

The day wise collections of the film are Rs. 1.85 crore from previews, Rs. 4.50 crore on Day 1, Rs. 5.00 crore on Day 2, Rs. 4.65 crore on Day 3, Rs. 1.50 crore on Day 4, Rs. 1.40 crore on Day 5, Rs. 1.40 crore on Day 6 and Rs. 1.40 crore on Day 7.
