Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Orlando Bloom are set to star together in a new survival thriller titled Reset, which will be directed by Matt Smukler. The film is expected to begin production later this year. Reset revolves around a woman played by Priyanka Chopra Jonas who suddenly wakes up in the middle of a remote wilderness with no memory of how she got there. Cut off from civilization, she comes across a mysterious man played by Orlando Bloom. While he appears charming and helpful, she slowly begins to question whether he is truly who he claims to be.
According to reports, director Matt Smukler felt Priyanka and Orlando were the perfect casting choice because both actors could naturally portray attraction and suspicion at the same time, making their on-screen chemistry ideal for the film’s tense storyline. Reports also suggest that the makers believe the film combines survival, romance, suspense, and deception with several unexpected twists that could keep audiences hooked.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas was recently seen in The Bluff and earlier appeared alongside Idris Elba and John Cena in Heads of State. Her other projects include recently released Season 2 of Citadel and an action adventure film titled Varanasi from filmmaker SS Rajamouli.
Orlando Bloom was recently praised for his performance in The Cut and was also seen in the action comedy Deep Cover. His upcoming lineup also includes Bucking Fastard directed by Werner Herzog.
Director Matt Smukler is known for projects like Finders Keepers and Wildflower.
Reset will be produced by Jon Hoeber and Erich Hoeber under Fratricidal Films, along with Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ production company Purple Pebble Pictures and Orlando Bloom’s Amazing Owl banner.
