BTS created massive excitement in Mexico City during their ARIRANG World Tour concerts, marking the group’s return to the country after 9 years. The concerts quickly became one of the biggest music events in the city, with videos from Day 2 going viral across social media platforms.
Group members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook performed at Estadio GNP Seguros on May 7, 9 and 10. While all three concerts attracted huge crowds, the second day stood out because of the extraordinary response from fans both inside and outside the venue.
According to reports, the total crowd attendance crossed over one lakh people. More than 40,000 fans reportedly gathered outside the sold out stadium to experience the atmosphere even without tickets. Videos shared online showed fans singing BTS songs together, waving lightsticks, dancing on the streets and chanting as the music from inside the stadium could be heard outside.

The area around the venue turned into a large public celebration, with fans creating their own concert like experience outside the stadium. Many people online described the event as one of BTS’ most memorable concert moments in recent years. The response also highlighted the strong connection the group continues to share with their Mexican fanbase after nearly a decade away from the country.
The demand for concert tickets had already broken records before the performances began. Reports from Ticketmaster stated that over 2.1 million fans attempted to purchase tickets during the presale phase. However, only around 150,000 tickets were available across all three concerts. More than 136,000 tickets were reportedly sold within less than an hour, making it one of Mexico’s largest concert sales events in recent years.
BTS’ visit also received official recognition in Mexico. Days before the concerts, nearly 50,000 fans gathered outside Mexico City’s National Palace to welcome the group. The excitement around the visit led to Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum honouring BTS as “Distinguished Visitors” and presenting them with a commemorative plaque.
Reports also suggested that discussions involving South Korean President Lee Jae-myung included requests for additional BTS concert dates in the country.
With the ARIRANG World Tour stop in Mexico, BTS once again showed the global influence of their music and the strong support of their fan community, known as ARMY.
