Ranveer Singh Set To Enter The Zombie World With Pralay

Ranveer Singh is set to star in zombie thriller Pralay, a post apocalyptic film with Kalyani Priyadarshan that is expected to begin filming in September 2026.

Ranveer Singh is reportedly preparing for a new project that will take him into a genre rarely explored in mainstream Hindi cinema. After the success of his spy thriller Dhurandhar, the actor is expected to headline Pralay, a post apocalyptic zombie thriller directed by debutant Jai Mehta. The film is expected to begin shooting in September 2026, with a major part of the production scheduled to take place in Australia.

According to reports, Pralay will feature Ranveer Singh alongside Kalyani Priyadarshan. The two actors will play a married couple trying to survive in a world that has been overrun by zombies. The story is reportedly set in a dystopian version of Mumbai, where the characters must fight for survival while dealing with the dangers of a city transformed by a deadly outbreak.

The film is said to be mounted on a large scale, with an estimated budget of around ₹300 crore. Reports suggest that the project is being backed by Maa Kasam Films, Hansal Mehta’s True Story Films and Applause Entertainment. A significant portion of the budget is expected to be used for visual effects, with VFX work reportedly already underway before filming begins.

Zombie films have not been a common genre in mainstream Bollywood, making Pralay one of the few large scale Hindi productions to explore this style of storytelling. The project is expected to combine action, suspense and survival elements while presenting a post apocalyptic setting that differs from traditional commercial Hindi films.

For Ranveer Singh, the film marks another shift in genre after working in action, historical dramas, sports films and spy thrillers. Pairing with Kalyani Priyadarshan also brings a fresh on screen combination for audiences.

While the makers have not officially shared detailed information about the storyline, Pralay is already drawing attention because of its reported scale, unique genre and high production budget. If the project moves forward as planned, it could become one of the biggest zombie films produced in Hindi cinema and add a different style of storytelling to Bollywood’s growing lineup of large budget productions.
