Jennifer Lopez’s child, previously known publicly as Emme, has drawn attention online after appearing to use a new name. The development came after a social media post shared by an Instagram account that tracks the college decisions of graduating students from Windward School. In the post, the 18 year old was identified as “Oskar Muñiz” while announcing plans to attend college later this year. The post included a childhood photograph alongside the logo of the college Oskar will attend. It also mentioned plans to study theater and studio arts. The caption tagged an Instagram account that appears to belong to Lopez and Marc Anthony’s child.
The Instagram profile linked in the post features a photograph of the graduate and displays the name Oskar. The bio also includes the symbols “⚣” and “⚧︎” along with the name of the college they are expected to attend.
The caption of the announcement post read, “Oskar to Sarah Lawrence! No more impromptu NYC trips because he’ll be living there! Good thing it’s only a few hours away from Stagedoor. Go gryphons!! Congrats!!!”
The post also received attention after being liked by actor Jennifer Garner, who was previously married to Ben Affleck. Garner and Affleck share three children together. Lopez was married to Affleck before the couple separated.
So far, Jennifer Lopez has not publicly commented on the apparent name change. Reports also stated that a representative for the singer did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Earlier this week, Lopez attended the graduation ceremony of her child alongside her mother, Guadalupe Rodríguez, and Affleck’s son Samuel. Marc Anthony, who shares twins Max and Emme with Lopez, was not seen at the event.
Lopez and Anthony were married from 2004 to 2014 and are parents to twins Max and Emme. The graduation ceremony marked an important milestone for the family as both children prepare to begin college.
During a recent appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, Lopez spoke about her emotions as her children get ready to leave home. Reflecting on the moment, she said, “Don’t talk about it because [I] start crying,” and revealed that she had been “crying for two months” while preparing for this transition.
The singer also shared that Max and Emme will be attending different colleges. She said she supports their decision and wants them to choose paths that make them happy and allow them to pursue their own goals and interests.
