Main Vaapas Aaunga continued its steady run at the box office by collecting approximately Rs. 3 crore nett on its 2nd Tuesday. The film recorded a 20 per cent increase compared to the previous day. Even more notably, the collection was around 80 per cent higher than the corresponding Tuesday of its first week, showing that the film is maintaining audience interest in its second week.
The latest figures have taken the film’s 12 day total to around Rs. 30 crore nett. According to current trends, the Imtiaz Ali directorial is expected to finish its second week with collections in the range of Rs. 34 crore to Rs. 35 crore nett.
The film also recorded its highest number of admissions so far on Tuesday, with approximately 2.5 lakh tickets sold. This surpassed the admissions recorded on its 2nd Sunday, making it the biggest day of the film’s run in terms of audience turnout. Industry observers continue to note the positive impact of Discount Tuesday, which has helped bring more moviegoers to cinemas.
The day wise box office collections of Main Vaapas Aaunga are as follows:
Week One: Rs. 12.50 crore
2nd Friday: Rs. 2.00 crore
2nd Saturday: Rs. 4.50 crore
2nd Sunday: Rs. 5.50 crore
2nd Monday: Rs. 2.50 crore
2nd Tuesday: Rs. 3.00 crore
Total: Rs. 30.00 crore
The film is now being viewed as a contender for success, although it still has a considerable distance to cover. To move beyond Rs. 60 crore nett, it will need to maintain strong holds over the next three weeks. Ideally, weekly drops should remain below 50 per cent and stay closer to 40 per cent if possible.
Achieving that target may prove challenging due to upcoming competition. Several major releases, including Welcome to the Jungle, Alpha and Dhamaal 4, are scheduled to arrive in cinemas over the next three weeks. These films are expected to compete for screens and audience attention.
The overseas market will also play an important role in the film’s overall performance. Despite positive momentum, the movie faced significant reductions in screenings during its second weekend. In Australia, the number of cinemas showing the film dropped from 57 in its opening week to just five. In the United States, it was screening in fewer than 20 locations.
The film has currently earned USD 1.40 million overseas. If screen availability improves and audience interest continues, it could go on to collect around or even more than USD 3 million during its international run.
