After more than a decade together, Courteney Cox and Snow Patrol musician Johnny McDaid have reportedly gone their separate ways. According to PEOPLE, the longtime couple has ended their relationship after first getting together in 2013. Neither Cox nor McDaid has publicly commented on the split, and representatives for both have yet to address the reports.
The pair were last photographed together in September 2025 while attending the US Open in New York City. Over the years, they kept much of their relationship away from the spotlight, making only occasional public appearances despite being one of Hollywood’s most enduring couples.
Cox and McDaid’s love story began in late 2013, and things moved quickly. They made their red carpet debut in 2014 before announcing their engagement later that year. However, the couple called off the engagement in 2015 after hitting a rough patch.
Instead of walking away for good, they found their way back to each other the following year. Although they never got engaged again, Cox often spoke about how their relationship became stronger after reconciling.

During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2019, the Friends star explained that while they were no longer engaged, they were happily together. She also revealed that McDaid had returned to England after their breakup before the two eventually reunited.
Cox later shared more about that difficult chapter during a 2024 appearance on Minnie Driver’s Minnie Questions podcast. She recalled being blindsided when their engagement ended, admitting the breakup happened during a therapy session. Looking back, however, she credited the experience with helping both of them grow.
She described McDaid as “an incredible human being” and said she was ultimately grateful that he had the courage to step away when the relationship needed work. According to Cox, that difficult decision helped lay the foundation for a healthier partnership when they got back together.
Before dating McDaid, Cox was married to actor David Arquette from 1999 to 2014. The former couple share daughter Coco. McDaid, meanwhile, is best known as a member of the band Snow Patrol and has also collaborated with artists including Ed Sheeran.
While the reason behind the latest split remains unknown, the reported breakup marks the end of a relationship that weathered long distance, a broken engagement, and more than a decade together.
