Singer Lizzo drew attention at the 2026 BET Awards in Los Angeles with a bold fashion choice as she arrived at the Peacock Theater wearing a sparkling sheer brown gown. The outfit featured a see through design, while her long blonde curls were styled to provide coverage. She completed the look with statement rings and glowing makeup, making one of the most talked about appearances on the red carpet. Lizzo was also scheduled to perform during the awards ceremony.
The event comes as Lizzo continues promoting her new album, Bitch, which was released earlier this month. During a recent interview with SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio hosts Evan Real and Danny Murphy, the singer shared that her current favourite song from the album is “Sexy Ladies.” Explaining her choice, she said, “Right now I’m loving ‘Sexy Ladies’ and I think it’s because everyone loves sexy ladies. And it’s so easy to love it. It’s summer, right?”
Lizzo also spoke about her appearance at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit runway show during Miami Swim Week, where she wore a plunging one piece swimsuit from her fashion brand. Looking back at the event, she said, “I felt so sucked in.” She also joked, “The girls were The Yittys were Yittying. We have to put ‘Bitch’ on this suit, and we just did it.”
In recent months, Lizzo has openly discussed her health journey and her reported 60 pound weight loss. Earlier this year, she shared photos of herself in a Gucci bikini on social media and wrote, “Yall gettin the whole stomach out all summer.”
The singer has also spoken honestly about the emotional struggles she experienced following the workplace harassment and hostile work environment allegations that became public in 2023. In a personal Substack post shared in November 2025, she revealed that she had struggled with depression and changed her lifestyle during that period. Instead of turning to emotional eating, she began practising Pilates. Explaining her motivation, Lizzo wrote, “It was never about being ‘thin’ for me. I don’t even think it’s possible for me to be considered actually ‘thin.’ I will always have the stretch, and the skin of a woman who carries great weight. And I’m proud of that. Even when the world doesn’t want me to be.”
She also addressed criticism about her changing appearance, saying, “There’s nothing wrong with living in a bigger body. There’s nothing wrong with being fat. But if a woman wants to change, she should be allowed to change.” Through her comments, Lizzo highlighted the importance of personal choice and accepting different body types without judgment.
