Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, crossed the ₹50 crore nett mark at the Indian box office after completing 10 days in theatres. According to the latest figures, the film earned ₹5.60 crore nett during its second weekend, including ₹2.20 crore on Sunday. Its total collection now stands at ₹50.85 crore nett.
The film witnessed a significant decline in its second weekend business. Compared to its opening weekend, collections dropped by 83 per cent, indicating a slowdown in audience footfall after the initial release. The action thriller, directed by Shiv Rawail and backed by Yash Raj Films, is now expected to finish its second week with collections between ₹9 crore and ₹10 crore. If that happens, its total box office earnings could reach around ₹55 crore nett.
Based on its current performance, trade estimates suggest that Alpha may end its theatrical run with a lifetime collection of around ₹65 crore nett. While the film has crossed the ₹50 crore mark, its overall box office performance has remained below expectations considering its scale, cast and production budget.
The film faced several challenges from the beginning of its release. Female led action films have traditionally found it difficult to attract large audiences in India. In addition, the YRF Spy Universe had already seen mixed box office results with recent releases, making Alpha a challenging project in the current market. Despite these factors, the film managed to cross the ₹50 crore mark during its second weekend.
The day wise box office collection of Alpha in India is as follows:
Week 1: ₹45.25 crore nett
Second Friday: ₹1.30 crore nett
Second Saturday: ₹2.10 crore nett
Second Sunday: ₹2.20 crore nett
Total: ₹50.85 crore nett
Produced by Yash Raj Films, Alpha features Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in lead roles and is directed by Shiv Rawail. The film continues its theatrical run, and its weekday performance will determine how close it comes to the projected lifetime collection in the coming weeks.
