Alpha continued its run at the Indian box office by collecting around Rs. 1.40 crore to Rs. 1.50 crore on its second Friday. The latest figures show a drop of around 30 per cent compared to the previous day and nearly 85 per cent when compared to the film’s first Friday collection. After earning Rs. 45.10 crore in its first week, the movie’s total collection has now reached Rs. 46.60 crore nett in India.
Produced by Yash Raj Films and directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha stars Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in lead roles. Based on its current performance, the film is expected to collect around Rs. 6.5 crore to Rs. 7 crore during its second weekend. If those estimates are achieved, the movie will cross the Rs. 50 crore nett mark at the Indian box office.
According to present trends, trade estimates suggest that Alpha may finish its theatrical run with a total collection of around Rs. 60 crore to Rs. 65 crore nett in India. The film entered cinemas facing several challenges. Female led action films have traditionally found it difficult to attract large audiences in the Indian market. In addition, the YRF Spy Universe had already seen mixed box office results following the performances of Tiger 3 and War 2, making the film’s theatrical journey more challenging.
Despite these factors, Alpha managed to record a respectable opening week. Although its box office collections have slowed in the second week, the film continues to add to its overall earnings. Industry observers will now be watching whether it can maintain steady collections over the coming days and finish its run close to the current projections.
The report also highlights that Yash Raj Films has continued its practice of not using questionable methods to influence box office reporting. The production house has followed the same approach with Alpha, as it did with War 2, while allowing the film’s collections to reflect its actual theatrical performance.
