The makers of Thudakkam have released the official trailer just four days before the film’s theatrical release on August 7. The trailer gives audiences a glimpse of an emotional story that blends family relationships, suspense and action. The film is especially significant because it marks the acting debut of Vismaya Mohanlal, daughter of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal.
The trailer opens by introducing Vismaya’s character and her close relationship with her father, played by veteran actor Sai Kumar. The story is set in a peaceful and scenic hilly region, creating a calm atmosphere in the beginning. As the trailer moves forward, the mood changes completely. What starts as a family drama soon turns into an intense thriller filled with mystery, danger and action. The sudden shift in tone hints that the film has many surprises waiting for audiences.

After the trailer launch, Vismaya was asked whether audiences would get to see her perform action scenes similar to those that made her father famous. Before she could answer, Mohanlal playfully took the microphone and joked that there would definitely be action, although perhaps not at the same level as his own films. He also praised the film’s stunt team, saying that action directors Stunt Silva and Yannick Ben are among the best in the industry. His comments have raised expectations that the film will feature well designed and exciting action sequences. The trailer also hints at a major transformation in Vismaya’s character during the second half, which could become one of the biggest highlights of the film.
The screenplay of Thudakkam has been written by Linish Nellikkal, Akhil Krishna, and director Jude. The film’s technical team includes cinematographers Akhil George and Jomon T John, editor Chaman Chakko, music composer Jakes Bejoy, and sound designer Vishnu Govind.
