Nina Dobrev has surprised fans with a major change in her appearance while filming her upcoming movie It Happened One Summer. The 37 year old actress recently shared behind the scenes pictures from the project on Instagram, giving viewers an early look at her new character and her blonde hairstyle.
Known for her brunette hair, Nina appears with blonde locks in the pictures from the film set. She also introduced fans to the character she plays in the upcoming movie. Sharing the photos on Tuesday, August 11, the actress wrote, “Meet Piper … Turns out blondes do have more fun…”
The new hairstyle is part of Nina’s transformation into Piper Bellinger, the central character in It Happened One Summer. The movie is based on the popular book of the same name written by Tessa Bailey. The story follows Piper Bellinger, a woman whose life takes an unexpected turn after she is sent to a small coastal town.
Nina’s Instagram slideshow also included pictures of some of her co stars. The cast features Gavin Leatherwood, Tyler Hoechlin and Virginia Gardner. Virginia plays Piper’s sister, while Tyler takes on the role of Brendan. Gavin plays Fox Thornton, who is Brendan’s best friend.

Peter Hutchings, who previously directed The Hating Game, is directing It Happened One Summer. Christina Mengert, who also worked on The Hating Game, has written the screenplay alongside Joseph Muszynski.
