Kit Harington Caught In A Dangerous Love Triangle In A Tale Of Two Cities Trailer

Kit Harington stars in A Tale Of Two Cities, a historical drama about love, war and the French Revolution, premiering on MGM+ on Sept. 6.

Kit Harington finds himself at the centre of a complicated love triangle in the trailer for MGM+’s upcoming historical drama A Tale Of Two Cities. The four part series is based on Charles Dickens’ famous novel, which is set during the period of the French Revolution.

The story begins in 1782 London, at a time when Britain and France are at war. Mirren Mack plays Lucie Manette, a young woman who receives a message suggesting that her father, who she believed was dead, may actually be alive and living in Paris.

The message is delivered by Charles Darnay, a French emigré played by Francois Civil. However, Darnay is arrested and accused of treason. Lucie then turns to lawyer Sydney Carton, played by Kit Harington, for help. Carton agrees to help free Darnay and guide Lucie towards Paris so that she can find her father.

As the three characters become more closely connected, the story develops into a complicated love triangle. Both Darnay and Carton develop feelings for Lucie, while she is forced to deal with her own emotions and decide where her heart lies.

The producers describe the relationship between the two men as an important part of the story. “Yet neither man — physically so alike, spiritually poles apart can escape the other. Instead, they find themselves bound together in life and death, through triumphs, tragedies, marriage, and murder,” the synopsis states.

The series combines romance and adventure with the larger political events surrounding the French Revolution. The contrasting worlds of London and Paris play an important role as the characters move between personal relationships and the dangers created by war and political unrest.

A Tale Of Two Cities will premiere on Sept. 6, with new episodes arriving weekly on MGM+ in the U.S., Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands and Latin America.

Dickens’ original novel was published in 1859 and tells a story set in London and Paris before and during the French Revolution. The new television adaptation has been created and written by Daniel West.

The series is produced by Federation Stories and is a co production between Federation Studio France and Thriker Films for MGM+ and the BBC. Executive producers include Polly Williams, Léo Becker, Sarah Best, Kit Harington, Daniel West and Hong Khaou.

The four part drama will bring Dickens’ classic story to television through a new adaptation focused on the characters, their relationships and the dangerous political world surrounding them.
