Margaret Qualley Turns Heads In Chanel’s ‘Barefoot’ Sandals At The Dog Stars Premiere

Margaret Qualley made headlines at The Dog Stars premiere in London wearing Chanel’s viral soleless sandals with a dramatic black dress.

Margaret Qualley made a surprising fashion statement at the world premiere of The Dog Stars in London. The actress walked the red carpet at Odeon Luxe Leicester Square wearing a pair of unusual Chanel sandals that made it look as if she was almost walking barefoot. Her eye catching footwear quickly became one of the biggest talking points of her red carpet appearance.

The unusual sandals come from Chanel’s Cruise 2027 collection and have already attracted attention online. Instead of having a traditional sole, the design features a heel cap and straps around the ankle, leaving most of the bottom of the foot completely exposed. The shoes create the illusion that the wearer is walking barefoot while still technically wearing high fashion footwear.

Qualley’s choice also matched the setting of the premiere. The red carpet was decorated with dirt and wild plants to reflect the world of The Dog Stars. The film takes place nine years after a flu pandemic has killed most of the world’s population. With the movie focusing on survival in a changed and dangerous world, Qualley’s unusual shoes added an extra connection between her fashion look and the film.

For the premiere, Qualley was styled by Danielle Goldberg. She paired the Chanel sandals with a dramatic black dress from the Chanel Resort 2027 collection. The outfit featured a shaggy texture and layers of dotted fringe, giving the look a bold and slightly wild appearance. She completed the outfit with chunky diamond earrings, a black manicure and pedicure, and a relaxed hairstyle.

In The Dog Stars, Qualley plays Cima, a doctor who becomes connected to Hig, a pilot played by Jacob Elordi. Hig is trying to survive in an abandoned airport in Colorado along with his dog and Bangley, an aggressive survivalist. The story is based on Peter Heller’s novel of the same name and explores survival, friendship and life after a major disaster. The film is scheduled to arrive in theatres on August 28.

While Qualley appeared to embrace the survival theme through her unusual fashion choice, Elordi went in the opposite direction. He looked traditional and polished in a navy pinstripe suit with a matching tie and black dress shoes.

Qualley’s nearly barefoot Chanel look once again shows how red carpet fashion can be closely connected to a film’s theme, turning a simple premiere appearance into a memorable fashion moment.
