Bhooth Bangla saw a drop in collections on its third Monday, earning around Rs. 1.50 crore. This was a decline of about 65 per cent compared to its third Friday, which had the advantage of being a holiday. The fall in numbers on Monday was also influenced by poll results, which kept many people occupied. However, when compared to Wednesday, the drop is around 50 per cent, which is still considered a stable hold.
After 18 days in theaters, the film has collected a total of about Rs. 138 crore nett. In the first four days of its third week alone, it brought in around Rs. 16 crore. Based on the current trend, the film is expected to finish its third week with close to Rs. 20 crore nett.
The film stars Akshay Kumar, and it is likely to cross the Rs. 150 crore mark by the end of its theatrical run. If the movie continues to perform steadily in the fourth and fifth weeks, its final total could reach around Rs. 160 crore nett.
Akshay Kumar has faced challenges at the box office after the pandemic, with several films not performing as expected. Last year showed some improvement, with three films doing reasonably well, although none reached the level of a major hit. With Bhooth Bangla, he now has a film that is performing strongly.
The film industry often benefits when actors like Akshay Kumar deliver consistent releases. While he may not always have very high grossing films, releasing multiple successful films in a year helps maintain steady box office activity. Compared to some other actors who release fewer films, his regular output plays an important role in keeping the industry active.
In India, box office performance is often driven by leading stars. Regular releases from popular actors help keep audience interest high and theaters busy.
