Pati Patni Aur Woh Do Sees Sharp Drop At Box Office In Second Week

Pati Patni Aur Woh Do crossed Rs 30 crore in India but saw a major drop in collections during its second weekend at the box office.

Pati Patni Aur Woh Do has started slowing down at the box office after completing its first week in theatres. The film, which stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles, released on May 15, 2026 and had opened with decent collections during its first weekend.

Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the film earned Rs 1.35 crore on Day 8, according to industry tracking data cited by Sacnilk. This marked a drop of around 32.5% compared to the previous day. The movie was screened in 2,788 shows across India, but audience footfalls reduced steadily as the weekdays progressed.

The film closed its first week with a collection of Rs 29 crore. Out of this, the opening weekend alone contributed Rs 17.5 crore. With the Day 8 numbers added, the total India net collection now stands at Rs 30.35 crore. The domestic gross collection has reached Rs 36.02 crore, while overseas markets contributed Rs 5.85 crore. This has taken the film’s worldwide gross total to Rs 41.87 crore.

The day wise collection trend shows a gradual fall after the first weekend. The film collected Rs 4 crore on Day 1, followed by Rs 5.75 crore on Day 2 and Rs 7.75 crore on Day 3. After the weekend, collections dropped to Rs 3.25 crore on Day 4, Rs 3.50 crore on Day 5, Rs 2.75 crore on Day 6, Rs 2 crore on Day 7, and Rs 1.35 crore on Day 8.

The film is also facing strong competition from new theatrical releases. Movies like Chand Mera Dil starring Ananya Panday and Lakshya, along with Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, have divided audience attention in cinemas.

Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is considered a spiritual sequel to the 2019 film Pati Patni Aur Woh, which featured Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Panday, and Bhumi Pednekar. The latest film also includes actors Vijay Raaz, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Ayesha Raza Mishra, and Deepika Amin in supporting roles.

The film has received mixed reactions from audiences and critics. CNN News18 Showsha rated the film 3.5 stars and wrote, “At 1 hour and 57 minutes, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is a like a ride at a local fare – nothing too snazzy and expensive but still fun, for the most part. And then there are the histrionics. This is a film that thrives on excess – excess pandemonium, excess coincidences, excess screaming, excess melodrama and, at times, excess confidence in its own absurdity.”
