Michael Continues Strong Box Office Run As Film Nears Rs. 65 Crore In India

Michael remained steady in its third week with Rs. 61.75 crore total collection so far and is now heading towards Rs. 75 crore in India.

Michael continued to perform well at the Indian box office during its third week. The biographical drama based on Michael Jackson added Rs. 1 crore on its third Monday. The film recorded a 40 per cent drop from its previous Friday collections, which is considered a steady hold for a movie in its third week.

In the first four days of the third week, the film collected around Rs. 10 crore. The movie is now expected to finish the week with collections in the range of Rs. 13 crore to Rs. 14 crore. With this, its total collection in India is likely to touch the Rs. 65 crore gross mark by the end of the week.

The Jaafar Jackson starrer is now expected to finish its entire theatrical run with around Rs. 75 crore gross in India. The film has already emerged as a HIT venture and has become the third successful Hollywood release in India this year after Project Hail Mary and Lee Cronin’s The Mummy.

Interestingly, all three Hollywood films found success within a short period of around one month. This trend has surprised many trade observers because these films do not belong to the usual type of Hollywood franchises or major intellectual properties that generally perform well in India.

Another Hollywood release, The Devil Wears Prada 2, is also doing good business at the box office. While the film may not reach HIT status, it is still shaping up to be a successful release.

The strong performance of these films is important because the Indian market is usually dominated by large Hollywood franchises and established brands. The recent success of films like Michael, Project Hail Mary and The Mummy shows that audiences are also supporting content driven films outside major franchises.

Several big Hollywood franchise films are scheduled to release later this year. Because of the strong performance of recent releases, 2026 is now expected to be a strong year for Hollywood films in India, especially if more unexpected successes continue to arrive in theatres.
