Michael continued its successful run at the Indian box office by collecting Rs. 13 crore during its third week in theatres. The film saw a drop of nearly 35 per cent compared to its second week collections, but the overall hold is still considered strong for a musical biographical drama.
The movie performed steadily during the weekdays and is now expected to witness another jump in collections during its fourth weekend. At present, the total India gross collection of Michael stands at Rs. 64.75 crore. Based on current trends, the film is likely to finish its theatrical run close to the Rs. 80 crore mark.
If the film reaches that total, it will become the second highest grossing Hollywood film of 2026 in India after Project Hail Mary. Michael has also already become the biggest Hollywood musical biopic ever at the Indian box office.
The film’s success adds to a strong phase for Hollywood releases in India this year. Along with Michael, films such as Project Hail Mary and The Mummy have also emerged as successful releases. Another recent release, The Devil Wears Prada 2, is also performing well and is expected to finish its run successfully.
What makes these box office results important is that none of these films belong to the typical franchise or superhero category that usually performs strongly in India. The Indian market is generally considered more supportive of globally recognised Hollywood franchises and intellectual properties. However, these recent films have managed to attract audiences through strong word of mouth and different genres.
Industry observers believe that 2026 could become a strong year for Hollywood films in India if more unexpected successes continue in the coming months. Several major international releases are also scheduled for later this year.
The box office collections for Michael currently stand at Rs. 31.25 crore in Week One, Rs. 20.50 crore in Week Two, and Rs. 13 crore in Week Three. This takes the film’s total India gross collection to Rs. 64.75 crore after three weeks in theatres.
