Alia Bhatt continued to attract attention with her fashion choices at the 79th Cannes Film Festival. After making her red carpet appearance in a peach coloured gown by Tamara Ralph, the actress chose a more traditional Indian inspired outfit for the inauguration of the Bharat Pavilion in France.
For her third appearance at the festival, Alia wore a custom made saree inspired gown designed by celebrated Indian designer Tarun Tahiliani. The outfit combined modern fashion with traditional Indian craftsmanship and featured a structured corset paired with a draped dhoti style skirt made from ivory chanderi fabric.
The gown was created using hand woven silk tissue in shades of ivory and gold, giving it a soft and elegant look. The outfit blended the dramatic style of a gown with the timeless appeal of a saree, making it one of her most talked about looks from the festival.
Apart from the outfit, Alia’s jewellery also received attention online. She wore traditional Indian accessories including vintage inspired haathphool with pearl details, a simple nose ring and a small pearl bindi. She also wore a traditional payal, which she proudly showed in a video shared on her social media account.
Her earrings also became a point of discussion after it was revealed that they belonged to Sunita Kapoor, mother of stylist Rhea Kapoor, who styled Alia for the event. Sharing a video online, Alia captioned it, “feeling unapologetically filmy.”
To keep the focus on the outfit and jewellery, Alia Bhatt chose soft pink toned makeup and simple styling. Many fans online praised the actress for representing Indian fashion on an international stage while staying connected to traditional elements.
Over the past few days, Alia’s Cannes appearances have regularly created buzz on social media, with fans discussing her outfits, styling choices and fashion statements. The actress has often balanced modern fashion with traditional Indian influences, and her latest appearance at Cannes once again highlighted that style.
