VICKY DONOR is now a multiple National Award winning film and for its lead actor Ayushmann Khurrana, it also brings in continued joy and pride. While he is indeed happy with the accolades that the film is earning even though it has been 11 months since its release, he is particularly happy for Shoojit Sircar and Juhi Chaturvedi.

While Shoojit went on to direct the film, it was Juhi who was responsible for story, screenplay and dialogues.
“I feel really good for Shoojit and Juhi as it was they who had created something unique for VICKY DONOR. These are the guys who thought of something out of the box for the film at the conceptualisation and writing stage itself. They deserve all the acknowledgment and awards that are continuing to come in,” says Ayushmann.

While he is gearing up for the release of his second outing NAUTANKI SAALA, Ayushmann fondly remembers the time when the film was basically being planned as an entertainer with no one carrying any aspirations for the film to turn into not just a massive commercial success but also a National Award winner.
“We took a taboo topic and were so pleasantly surprised when so much buzz was created around it,” he continues, “This shows that we have become very progressive as a society. As for awards and rewards then well, I am somebody who doesn’t expect much in life. The fact that it is fetching awards at the highest pedestal is a major win by all means.”
