Meet the silver spoon baby star kid who was born with a gilt-edged acting background, thanks to his dramatic family history. Although he created a splash in 1995 with his debut lead role, not many know that this sterling actor’s affair with the silver screen started all the way back in 1977, when he was merely eight years old.

Years later, he continued to give some blockbuster films, and his status as a popular name in the industry was solidified. Born to a clan of Bollywood legend actors, Bobby Deol was predestined for Bollywood. Although most link his arrival with Barsaat (1995), his very first appearance on the silver screen came in 1977. Just eight years old at the time, he essayed the role of Young Dharam in Dharam Veer, starring Bollywood icons Dharmendra and Jeetendra.

The Lead Role Breakthrough
Years later, Bobby Deol officially entered Bollywood as a lead actor in Rajkumar Santoshi’s Barsaat (1995) alongside Twinkle Khanna. The film was a massive success, cementing his position in the industry. Over the years, he delivered several hit films and remained a sought-after name in Bollywood.

Struggles and Career Slump
Although he had started well, Bobby Deol had a tough phase when his movies began to flop. He was unable to find work and stopped acting for some time. On a talk show, he confessed that he drank alcohol to overcome the difficult times. His wife, Tanya Deol, managed the finances of the family.

A major turning point was when his son asked him innocently, “Papa stays at home, why do you go to work?” This question struck a chord in Bobby, encouraging him to concentrate on rebuilding his career.

A Comeback of Strength
Bobby Deol revamped his image by accepting negative characters, which was met with appreciation and admiration. His acting as ominous characters has positioned him as one of Bollywood’s most notorious villains. He recently tasted huge success with Animal, which turned out to be a blockbuster hit.
